Bernadus Setya Ananda Wijaya became interested in stocks after working in the financial sector. He observed that banking in Indonesia was still limited to funding, lending, and asset management at the time. Realising that the ratio of stock trading participants versus the population of Indonesia is staggeringly low, Bernad felt a calling to understand stocks and securities to change this.
In 2016, Bernad began working at Sucor Sekuritas, which provides services for buying and selling stocks, underwriting or assisting companies with corporate actions such as IPOs and bond issuance. It only took him four years to become Director of Equity and Business Development. Later in the same year, he was appointed CEO of Sucor Sekuritas, thanks to his success in building the business.
Bernad faced challenges during the COVID pandemic when many fraudulent investments were circulating, discouraging potential investors. He and his team had to work hard to educate people about investments, safety and risks.
Bernad continues to develop Sucor Security by conducting employee training under his leadership. He aims to continue educating the public and educating Indonesian companies to go public.
